A Complete Guide To Candle Burning

Burning a candle can be very soothing. However, a lit candle is still a fire. A grill, fireplace, and fireworks can all be great fun with proper training, so can your candle! Here are some helpful tips to have you burning candles like a pro.

Always trim your wick. This will make your candle burn twice as long. It will also keep your flame low. The suggested length is 1/4 inch. Wick trimmers are preferred, but fingernail clippers work just as good. If you don’t have either, pinch it.
Never leave a lit candle unattended. Burn your candle in an area you can keep an eye on.
Burn your candle on non flammable surfaces away from draft and children. Children are curious and unpredictable. Burn your candle out of reach. Be sure to burn your candle on a non flammable surface (such as a kitchen or bathroom) and away from draft.
Allow your candle to melt completely across the top. Candles have memory. Allow time for it to melt completely across the top. This will prevent cratering.
Do NOT burn for more than 4-5 hours. The fire from the flame of your wick will heat your jar. If it gets too hot it could burst. To prevent this extinguish your candle after 4-5 hours of burning.
